  1. Emergency room

Made Mar 4, 2021, sent to the company Mar 17, 2021, published by CPSC Mar 31, 2021

The product, in the report: Fredson 14.5” Wide Velvet Round Standard Ottoman Blue 17.5” High 14.5” wide 14.5” depth weight 9lbs SKU # MECY1376 Reg. No. CA 46289 (CN)

I was about to sit on an ottoman to put my shoes on when I used my left foot to push the bottom to move it forward. The bottom of the ottoman has a metal band on the bottom. As I pushed the ottoman with my foot my left great toe came in contact with the metal band edge on top and caused a laceration /avulsion to the side of the left great toe, causing an injury resulting in 17 sutures to close the wound. The metal band is decorative and is made of sheet metal. It looks like it sits flush with the fabric of the ottoman.
