The product, in the report: Baxton Studios Kaylee modern classic beige upholstered bench ottoman
Purchased a bench style ottoman from Walmart online. It has an extremely disgusting chemical smell inside. I purchased it in June, and have not been able to get rid of the smell. Whenever I manage to get it to dissipate, it comes back just as strongly the next day. I’ve used baking soda, vinegar, charcoal, cedar, dish soap, days in the hot summer sun, a heat gun, several full days with fans at full strength blowing air into it, and days with a high end air purifier inside it. Nothing works. The smell makes people dizzy and is clearly coming from the plywood under the fabric. I’ve had other pieces of furniture with the California prop 65 warning that had a mild off gassing period for a few days or weeks, but nothing like this. It is dangerous.
