Purchased LITTLE GIANT “HELIUM” MODEL from QVC (2-3yrs ago). The spring mechanism in the lock broke off from inside the lock. Ladder is now not safe to use as it will not lock. QVC’s web site has several reviews with this same problem, with the same model. My husband almost fell due to this. There has been absolutely no improper use and the ladder is stored in our garage when not is use.

The manufacture, Wing Enterprises, requires the buyer to pay for shipping to and from their facility. In addition, there is not guarantee the defect will be fixed as it is up to the manufacture to make that decision.

MANY OTHER MODELS FROM THIS MANUFACTURE HAVE BEEN RECALLED. PLEASE, PLEASE help those of us who purchased the “Helium” model of this ladder BY ISSUING A RECALL. Thank you.

We purchased a Little Giant LT 22 Ladder from Groupon.com on 5/28/17. My concern is regarding the fact that this product (Little Giant LT 22 Ladder) has a Safety Recall on the Rock Locks and it wasn’t disclosed to us and probably no other customers. Our ladder is one of the ladders that have Rock Locks that are a safety risk. Groupon.com potentially sold hundreds of ladders since the Safety Recall on 3/22/17 that are a safety risk to their customers and they didn’t disclose it to them. It seems to me that they should notify each of them regarding this Safety Recall. The three links below provides more specific information regarding the Safety Recall for Rock Locks on the Little Giant LT 22 Ladder.

The product, in the report: Little Giant Extreme 22

I was using my Little Giant Ladder to take down some drapes. The ladder includes an Air Deck which is intended to hold onto when you are on the ladder. While I was reaching to take down a drape the brackets holding the air deck shattered causing me to fall off the ladder into a window. Fortunately I was able to grab the window farm as I fell to avoid serious injury. A few days later I saw the ladder on sale at a home show and the sales person said the ladder had been redesigned to change from plastic brackets to metal brackets because the company knew it was a problem. When I reported it to the company they required me to pay shipping to get a replacement part. The replacement part was totally redesigned. The company, Little Giant knew they had a design defect but did nothing to notify consumers. I could have been seriously injured by falling off that ladder. The ladder with the plastic brackets is a risk to users.

Note: Incident occurred at prior home which I was in the process of selling. [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Little Giant Ladder, Type 1A

Last year, I purchased a new Little Giant ladder (Type 1A) from Costco. The product was demonstrated by a Little Giant employee who made it appear safe, simple and easy to use.

Every time I use the ladder I suffer some type of minor injury. Today, while using it, my hand and arm were pinched between sliding elements of the ladder. This resulted in two large and painful blood blisters. I am very careful when I use the ladder knowing that its heavy weight and multiple pinch points can cause severe injury.

I am a degreed mechanical engineer with 40 years of experience. I feel this product is unsafe for the general public’s use and should be modified or discontinued.
