How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 1 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Nov 10, 2020, sent to the company Feb 2, 2021, published by CPSC Feb 17, 2021

The product, in the report: ASIN: B07RFGHYGH KingSo 3 Step Ladder Folding Step Stool with Steel Wide Anti-Slip Pedal and Handgrip Anti-Slip, Lightweight 350lbs Portable Steel Step Stool, (350lbs Capacity)

I purchased 3 step folding ladder. The bottom step is only 4 inches from the floor. The placement of this step (low) creates dangerous situation. Due to low first step, the second (or middle step) is lower than a normal second step. When you are coming down the ladder, if you are not looking down, when you move from third step down to second step, you perceive that you are on last step when you are in fact on second step. This perception is caused by visually seeing yourself low compared to surrounding objects (like other furniture in the room) It is also because we have a general sense of what is “regular” stair height. So you step down with perception you will hit floor but in fact the floor in 4 inches lower than what you expect. This causes you to lose your balance and fall. It also causes you to “trip” on that lower step which causes you to further lose balance. I lost my balance on more than one occasion. I use ladders regularly and have never had any issues. Even after I lost my balance the first time and I was aware of the low step, I still “mis- stepped” two other times.
