The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: COSCO ladder with blue locking mechanisms
I purchased a COSCO ladder from walmart similar to the [REDACTED] currently on recall. Mine has blue parts where your recall picture has yellow. Mine also has recurring issues with the locking mechanism jamming and failing to fully lock. Last Friday multiple locks again failed. When I was placing the ladder before climbing it, one side collapsed. Had it failed as I was climbing it, at my age serious injury would have occurred, if not worse.

First aid Made Apr 16, 2020, sent to the company Apr 23, 2020, published by CPSC May 7, 2020
The product, in the report: COSCO Aluminum Ladder made by COSCO also known as DJG, Inc., PO Box 2609, Columbus, IN 47202 [REDACTED] https://www.coscoproducts.com/eng/Products/Climbing/Ladders/Details/3017-2061AABLD-Cosco-6-foot-Signature-Series-Step-Ladder-Type-1A
On March 26th of this year, I was at a clients site, working indoors on some wiring that was a few feet above my head. I was splicing 2 copper wires together and needed a ladder to reach the wires. At the exact area I was working there was a ladder that seemed appropriate as the work was very light and did no require and drilling or pushing/pulling on anything. Just the weight of my body (185LB) was the only load to be placed the ladder. The ladder appeared in good shape, and with an aluminum frame that seemed sturdy enough to support my weight. I used the ladder to reach my work. While positioned, standing on the second step, the step broke away. I fell downward and landed on my left shin on the lower step. The ladder appeared to fail where two small screws holding a plastic cleat that held the step had broken. Both my client and I were in shock that a ‘premium’ aluminum ladder would fall apart while being used. In my 40 years of using ladders I have never seen this happen (with wood ladders being the exception). There was a 6 inch gash in my shin. I immediately felt the need to see a doctor as the pain was tremendous and the wound was fairly long. Because of the Covid-19 virus global pandemic, I decided to not go into urgent care as I had been advised by my insurer that the clinics were busy dealing with patients seeking treatment for the virus. Concerned still about an infection forming, I carefully cleaned and dressed the wound for over 2 1/2 weeks until it finally closed. During this time I was in a great deal of pain and could not walk far for the first week. Both my shin bone and muscle around the bone ached with very sharp pains.
