The product, in the report: Emmett Bed, King Size, in the quick ship Frost Gray Chenille Tweed fabric with Cool Walnut legs. Product link: https://www.westelm.com/products/emmett-bed-wood-legs-h8481/
I received a King size Emmett Bed from West Elm in the quick ship Frost Gray Chenille Tweed fabric with Cool Walnut legs. After the bed frame arrived, it filled the bedroom with a chemical smell clearly off gassing. I’ve contacted West Elm 3x over phone and 3x over email since Friday June 9th requesting the product information and they have yet to supply it. I let them know I am pregnant and have needed to avoid my bedroom since the delivery until I know what chemicals were used so I can assess proper off gassing time and they have not reconciled the situation. I believe they packaged the product in plastic before letting it properly off gas and whatever chemicals were used are off-gassing in the bedroom. My concern is polyurethane or PFAs. I was told by West Elm to just [REDACTED] “5 common source of VOCs” and “the fumes will dissipate over time” as the solution.

No one hurt Made Mar 24, 2017, sent to the company Apr 7, 2017, published by CPSC Apr 21, 2017
The product, in the report: West Elm Simple Bed Frame; White Lacquer finish
I purchased a West Elm Simple Bed Frame with White Lacquer Finish. I unpacked it and brought it into the bedroom to assemble it tonight.
It has a very strong smell. Both my wife and I got light headed, headachy, had difficulty breathing and our eyes started itching after the bed was removed from its packaging.
We decided to move the bed frame out of the bedroom. Now that the bed is out of the bedroom, we experience no further effects.
I love the look of the bed but am concerned about the health effects. It can’t be in the house with us.

The product, in the report: West Elm’s Narrow-Leg Wood Bed Frame, white, queen size
I purchased a bed frame (the “Narrow-Leg Wood Bed Frame”) from West Elm, shipped to me and professionally assembled in September 2012. Upon placing my mattress on the bed frame, the support beams and rails collapsed. At first it was suspected that the frame was simply not assembled properly, so replacement support pieces were sent to me. I put the frame together according to specifications. All seemed well at first, but within a few days the support beams and rails collapsed again, this time with me on the bed. Fortunately no injuries were sustained.
