How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 1 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

Made Jan 10, 2022, sent to the company Jan 20, 2022, published by CPSC Feb 10, 2022

The product, in the report: Walker Edison Spindle Back Solid Wood Twin Bed Caramel

The side rail of a recently purchased (Aug 2021) Walker Edison Furniture Company twin bed split when the bed was slept in for the first time, by a small child (40 pounds), in November 2021. This compromised the stability of the whole bed and made it unusable. The wood was defective, as inspection showed. Walker Edison agreed to send the same bed model as a replacement. When the bed kit arrived, in December 2021, a split was already forming in the same side rail right out of the box. Walker Edison offered no further remedial action (and was unwilling to provide a refund for the bed). Walker Edison sells this bed as a “Spindle Back Solid Wood Twin Bed.” It is manufactured in Brazil by Saracina. Another bed manufactured by Saracina and sold by Walker Edison—a bunk bed—was recalled in September 2019 (19-779) because of multiple instances of the support boards breaking.
