  1. Hurt, care not known

The product, in the report: Bedroom package from Ashley Furniture item code B446-63, B446-52, B446-50, B446-21, B446-91, produce name Trinell bedroom set

I bought a bedroom set for my son in 8/2017 from Ashley Furniture. At the time I didn’t think anything of it but it had a very strong smell that was not only in the bedroom but was traveling to the loft area. It was not a foul odor I just thought it was new furniture smell although it was quite strong. My son did not sleep in that room for a few months because I was waiting to get a tv in the room. When he did begin to sleep in that room he began to have sinus problems, sneezing, eyes itching and watering, headaches. I did research and found out that the smell from the furniture which is engineered compress wood might be formaldehyde and may be causing this. I bought a very expensive air purifier that said it removes formaldehyde from the air. Since then I have had to replace the filter on this air purifier 3x and the manufacturers of the air purifier state it should not need replacement for 5 years. When I called the manufacturer of the air filter they said it would need more frequent replacement if there was something in the air that is causing it. There is a label on the back of this furniture saying it meets safety standards 082017 CA 92128 compliance P2 but obviously there is some chemical odor coming from this furniture causing my son the have sinus problems and itching eyes and causing the air purifier to need more frequent replacement of the carbon filter to remove voc’s . He feels better when he is out of the house. symptoms clear up when he is in school or outdoors and return when he is in his bedroom.
