I am writing to formally lodge a severe product liability and safety complaint regarding a TEMPUR-Ergo ProSmart Air Bed purchased on April 23, 2026, and delivered to my home on May 13, 2026. While my local retailer, Mueller Furniture, has ethically stepped in to absorb the financial loss and issue a refund for the $11,000 purchase price, Tempur-Pedic remains directly liable for manufacturing an unsafe product, failing to warn consumers of severe chemical sensitivities, and causing me direct physical injury. At no point during the marketing, sale, or documentation of this premium, luxury product was I warned that your specialized memory foams, volatile organic compound (VOC) off-gassing, or electronic components could trigger systemic, violent allergic reactions. It is entirely unethical and a violation of consumer trust to withhold notice of these severe potential health risks from the public. Timeline of Product-Induced Physical Distress: May 13, 2026: The bed was delivered and installed. May 1420, 2026: Within nights of sleeping on the mattress system, I suffered a systemic physical reaction including head-to-toe hives, intense skin irritation, sneezing, nasal congestion, a sore throat, headaches, nausea, and dizziness. These are classic, documented symptoms of acute VOC toxicity and material sensitivity. May 2122, 2026: In an attempt to isolate the variable, I switched from new bamboo sheets to my old, washed cotton sheets. Because cotton is highly breathable, it allowed an even higher concentration of the mattresss chemical vapors and foam particulates to rise directly against my skin. I woke up with the hives and rashes spreading violently across my entire face and body. Present: I have been completely displaced from my own bedroom. I have spent the last three days in intense physical pain, discomfort, and distress, dealing with severe facial rashes and hives, and waiting for this severe systemic reaction to clear.
