First aid Made Feb 4, 2025, sent to the company Feb 7, 2025, published by CPSC Feb 24, 2025
The product, in the report: Sleep Number Queen C360 Smart Bed
The heat in the feet turns on whenever it wants, the core temp cooled instead of heating and vice versa. I would wake up with chills or dripping in sweat. I had burns on my back. The head and foot of the bed also move whenever they want. Not near a remote, the bed does what it wants. The one side of the bed where the core temperature is quit working entirely. Hurt, no treatment Made Dec 31, 2023, sent to the company Jan 5, 2024, published by CPSC Jan 23, 2024
The product, in the report: Sleep Number PSE 360 360 flex fit base Dual Twins
We have a sleep number bed that has a motorized base that sits up. PSE 360 with a 360 flex fit base. The bed was in the upright position when my wife lowered it to flat. As it was lowering she noticed a pillow was behind it. She reached for the pillow and the frame closed on her arm. Because she was lying on the bed while the motor closed her body weight made it impossible for her to free herself. She was unable to reach for the remote to raise the bed. She screamed and I ran to the room and used the remote to raise the bed. The damage to her arm is hopefully minor, resulting in an injury which will be at least a big bruise, but this just happened and is not resolved yet. This was after just seconds of being trapped. Had I not been home to free her, she could have lost her arm. This bed has no safety feature that keeps it from continuing to shut if something is in the way. I can provide a picture of the damage to the arm if needed.

Emergency room Made Jun 27, 2022, sent to the company Jun 30, 2022, published by CPSC Jul 15, 2022
The product, in the report: King size p5 Sleep number bed SKU number KP5120613
I was rushed to the hospital over a month ago because of a sleep disorder and taking prescription and over-the-counter sleep aides.. Over the past 20 years I had eight spinal surgeries and live with chronic pain due to a failed neck surgery so sleeping is vital. My sleeping has deteriorated over the last two years and I realized after stripping the entire bed, the sleep number bed actually sunk on both sides for my wife and myself. We purchased the sleep number bed five years ago and I know the bed has sunken in for the last two years.

No one hurt Made Jul 12, 2020, sent to the company Aug 6, 2020, published by CPSC Aug 20, 2020
The product, in the report: Foot warmer on I10 Flex Fit 3 Sleep number bed
I purchased a I10 sleep number bed with flex fit 3 base in Sept 2017 with foot warmer. After working for for about a year the right side of foot warmer seemed to get very warm and seemed warm throughout the day and there was a slight burning electrical odor. An error code F1 occurred on my remote. I tried troubleshooting by resetting bed which seemed to work but only temporarily. Being now summer of 2019 we didn’t try anything as foot warming wasn’t necessary. Winter of 2019-2020 we tried to reset and called Sleep Support who suggested same reset routine and said a replacement was needed and would cost 299. Since that time , we have looked on support site and learned there was an active recall for similar incidents up thru August 2017. I would like to report this incident as it is identical as reported in the recall but on beds one month later.

No one hurt Made Feb 12, 2020, sent to the company Feb 21, 2020, published by CPSC Mar 13, 2020
The product, in the report: Sleep Number 360 Smart Bed
I purchased the sleep number 360 smart bed. This bed option was purchased because it was the only one with the foot warmer which my wife loved. We purchased the bed in November 2017 and it was replaced in 2018 due to the foot warmers. In February 2020, they once again replaced the foot warmers. When replacing them, the tech showed us where it had blackened the foam, protector sheet, and burned a small hole in the bottom of the bed cover. He never reported this. When speaking to sleep number, they said they’d replace the cover but wasn’t worried about the burning of the foot warmer. Sleep number had recalled the foot warmers in 2017 but they are apparently still having the issues. We are afraid to use the foot warmers for fear of the injuring us or something worse. We paid the extra money for a feature which we are afraid to use and sleep number says it isn’t a problem since the recall on applied to those before we bought ours.

Emergency room Made Oct 6, 2019, sent to the company Oct 25, 2019, published by CPSC Nov 8, 2019
The product, in the report: Sleepnumber 360 Smart Bed Serial Number for our California King Size Bed with adjustable base: 0901P00762914 & 0901P00764677
Our Sleepnumber 360 bed malfunctioned last night, sending an electric shock into my husbands body. The shock occurred when the sleepnumber air pumps were adjusting the firmness of the bed. My husband was getting out of bed when the electrical shock occurred. His feet were firmly on the floor, with just one hand on the bed. The electrical shock was so severe, it sent his heart rate well above the safe zone and he experienced temporary loss of conscious.
We called 911, the paramedics examined him and monitored his heart rate until it came down into the 130 range.
My husband is 37 years old, active and healthy. I’m currently 5months pregnant, the physiology, emotional, and mental stress of this incident is unacceptable.

Hurt, care not known Made Dec 5, 2018, sent to the company Dec 19, 2018, published by CPSC Feb 6, 2019
The product, in the report: Sleep Number King 360 FlexFit 1 Frame
We purchased a Sleep Number bed king mattress and with king 360 Flex fit 1 August 2018. My husband have sleep apnea medical condition. He served in military for 21 years. I do not have any issue with our old mattress except that my husband side of the bed was already cave in.
Since we purchased the bed with the flex fixture, every time we lift the head flex up, getting up in the morning feels terrible with back pain from our cervical spine all the way down to our thoracic spine.
The reason we purchased the product with flex up feature was because of their advertisement that will help us to accommodate what we need.
I do not want to worsen the effect, still we tested the product for almost three months. It is not working the way they stated into their advertisement. And not allowing us to return the flex fit bed and costing us $2,563.86 with all the charges they placed into the purchase. The company said it was a final purchased.
It is a final purchased but it is not working. Customers like us will be trap into the piece of metal causing us to have pain and health issues that can be worsen because customers will be stuck on that expensive flex, that can cause many health issues like sleep discomfort, misalignment of spinal cord, and cervical disc compression for continues usage, where is our protection? and what about other customers that will be trap onto the piece of metal that cost a lot money and cannot be return?
I hope somebody will help us to pay attention to this issue so no customers will experience the pain and disturbance that we are having right now with my husband’s medical issue and making it worse.
Thank you, [REDACTED]
