The product, in the report: Palomar King Size bed frame
My concern is regarding the Palomar bed frame I purchase from Room Store in May 2011. The bed frame was not delivered until June 2011 and shortly thereafter, we realized that the bed frame is approximately 5 inches longer than the standard mattress length, leaving a large gap between the mattress and the foot board. Although there has been no incident, our concern is that our daughter who is 2 could fall into this gap and injure herself. We realize children fall off beds frequently. However, we feel that this design could potentially increase injuries to young children. We contacted the company and a technician was sent out. They reported that the bed was made to specifications and there was no problem. We also went by the store where the furniture was purchased and were told the same thing. They have not offered any solution to our problem. To summarize, we feel that the bed is unsafe due to the large discrepancy between the length of the bed frame versus the length of a standard mattress.
