Hello, I wanted to report an issue with the Pottery Barn Teen Wren Wingback Bed, Full, Tweed Ivory, IDS (9642517).

This is a bed which is by itself quite heavy, the design of the bed is one continual frame that sits on 4, 6” high legs. These legs are bored with 3/8” bolt hardware that gets attached into the bed directly.

The primary issue is the legs and the hardware are not large enough to sustain lateral loads, like getting into the bed from the side.

On the nearly first use of the bed the legs were bent and buckled and near complete collapse. To remedy this the bed was raised and the legs removed, to allow the bed frame to sit on the floor.

This is likely a situation where the bed design did not consider the weight of the bed in the design of the leg and should be reviewed for safety before it collapses while someone is entering/exiting the bed.
