The product, in the report: PBteen Sleep + Study Loft Bed in white, Made in Vietnam in April of 2010, SKU no. 9378993, Item # 25-9422247 Order# [REDACTED], Purchased: 02/24/2010 Delivered 05/29/2010

My bedroom was being renovated so, seeing as my daughter was not going to be home, I decided to sleep in her PBTeen Sleep + Study Loft Bed. We had never had any issues with the bed other than a government recall requiring a retrofit that we had had done. At about 4am on March 15, 2019 I needed to use the bathroom. I started to descend the bed’s ladder, holding the wood bed frame with my hands as I descended. Suddenly, the sideboard I was holding with my right hand split in numerous places and broke off, sending me crashing to the ground. I went to the ER and was told that I had broken the third through eighth ribs on my left side. I have been in enormous pain since breaking those six ribs.
