The product, in the report: Cielo Full wall bed with side storage tower in Gray Model 80183-1147-1247-1347
I bought this Bestar Cielo Murphy / Wall Bed from Costco and started assembling it myself. After the bed was assembled, I realized that the spring/cylinder is too tight that it pulls the bed up when I tried to lay in down on floor for uses such as for sleeping. The spring is so strong that the bed comes up to the closing position automatically and it can easily pull any kids or lightweight person when it is in use.
As I was trying to adjust the bed frame to see if it was screwed too tight to the wall or needs any alignment, I had asked another person to seat on the end of the bed so it does not close while I’m working. As a result, the wall frame came down and injured me and the other person.
I believe there’s a manufacturing defect on the spring as this should not be too strong that It pulls people when in use and it can kill people. I want to bring awareness so save lives. The incident that we had could have been deadly.
