Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Jul 24, 2013, sent to the company Aug 16, 2013, published by CPSC Aug 30, 2013
The product, in the report: Patio Lounge Chair
Consumer stated that he was sitting in his zero gravity lounge chair for approximately 3-5 mins, he pushed the chair halfway back and locked the levers, however, the chair went further and snapped the levers causing him to fall headwards with his feet in the air while still in the chair. He hit his head on the ground and hurt his neck and shoulder. He received first aid from his spouse who is a nurse.
7/18/13 The manufacturer was contacted and he was informed that he could not return the chair because it was passed 90 days and no longer under warranty. He feels that the chair is a safety hazard and could have caused serious injuries.
UPDATE FROM CONSUMER: I believe the customer service section at Pelican Creations needs to be retooled if it were my product (less than 1 year). I would be curious as to why the product failed. Making money is one thing. But putting money over quality and safety is another thing. Pelican needs to look at how they do business.
