The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

A chair cracked apart resulting in a fall. I was sitting at kitchen table and suddenly the chair gave way. I landed on my hip and bumped my head. I was sitting calmly. There are only adults in the house so nothing had happened to the chairs other than sitting on them.

Helvetica Leather Office chair which claims to be “Built to Last” and made of contract grade materials snapped in half where the base meets the seat. The weld failed while I was sitting in the chair and I fell to the ground. This chair was being used for its intended purpose and by a person who is well under the weight limit of the chair, and the chair literally broke in half.

The product, in the report: Wooden seat chairs with metal legs.

I purchased the West Elm chairs, SKU 7777282, and have enjoyed the look in our dining area. While sitting on the chair the bolt located at the intersection of the crossing legs sheared off and our guest almost fell to the floor. The tip of the bolt is lodged in the one leg crossmember. When I removed the bolts to the legs to inspect, I noticed that the bolts attaching the legs to the seatback have been warped and the crossmembers have been stripped as to not accept another bolt.
