The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Seen by a doctor or nurse

Made Oct 17, 2023, sent to the company Nov 20, 2023, published by CPSC Dec 5, 2023

The product, in the report: Mesh, Executive office chair with 5-Caster Wheels

The 71” tall, 190lbs., consumer was sitting in the chair for less than 30 minutes, when the chair collapsed.

The handles connect the base of the chair to the back lumbar. The base broke apart and the consumer fell directly backwards, landing on a carpeted floor. He tweaked his back and saw a doctor, for treatment.

8/2023: The consumer contacted the firm about the incident. Their rep’s primary response was to offer a replacement chair, but the consumer was not interested in another chair. They also told him that he could purchase another item up to the cost of the chair and pay additional money if a selected item cost more than the chair.

The consumer is much more concerned that someone could be severely injured if this happened to them. He is an engineer and said that the chair is very poorly designed for material used. Consumer would like to see this chair recalled and/or removed from market.

The chair cost around $220.00 and it came fully assembled.
