The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Dining side chair: [REDACTED]

Room & Board, Modern Errol Side Chair - Leaned slightly backward in chair when it broke, sending me crashing to the floor. The rear, horizontal seat supports are attached to the upright backrest/legs at just two points. The wooden dowels connecting the horizontal seat support to the upright backrest snapped at the joint. The incident occurred at the R&B showroom on 14th St. in Washington, DC. And it was brought to the attention of a store employee. I posted a review of the chair on the company’s website. It was subsequently removed. Currently, there are at least two other reviews on the same website documenting the same/similar problem where the Errol side chart has broken while in use.

The product, in the report: Doyle dining room chair in Walnut from Room and Board

I purchased 6 Doyle dining chairs in walnut from Room and Board. They were delivered Tuesday November 24th, 2016. First use was Sunday, November 29th. Just sitting in one chair, the back failed and broke. The skin on my back was scratched. I invited friends over for dinner. Just sitting in another chair, the back failed and broke. He nearly fell. I sent an email to Room and Board customer service the evening of the 29th with pictures.
