The product, in the report: Ozark Trail Director Chair with Side Table, black

    Dear Ozark Trail Customer Service,

I am contacting you regarding a serious safety issue with an Ozark Trail chair, Model WFC-95200D, that was given to me as a gift by my son-in-law. The chair is fairly new and had only been used twice. It was properly stored and was never left outside in the sun or exposed to prolonged weather.

While sitting in the chair recently, the material unexpectedly gave way and I fell completely through it. I weigh approximately 178 pounds, which is well below the chair’s stated 300-pound weight capacity. Considering the chair had only been used twice and I am more than 120 pounds below its advertised limit, I am very concerned that it failed in this manner.

Unfortunately, I was injured when I fell. My back was scratched, my arms and legs were bruised, and I am still experiencing pain in my groin area following the incident. I have photographs of both the damaged chair and my visible injuries that I am attaching.

Because the chair was a gift, I do not currently have the original receipt. I am checking with my son-in-law to see if he still has the receipt or other proof of purchase. However, the original barcode and identifying information are still attached to the chair, and I can provide clear photographs of those as well.

This was not simply normal wear and tear. A chair advertised to support up to 300 pounds should not fail after only two uses while supporting a 178-pound person. I believe this needs to be treated as a product safety concern, especially since the failure resulted in physical injury.

I am requesting that Ozark Trail investigate this incident and provide an appropriate resolution. At minimum, I would like the defective chair replaced. Considering that I was injured as a result of the failure, I would also appreciate consideration of a refund, gift card, or other appropriate compensation.

Please let me know what additional information or photographs you need. I can provide pictures of the chair, barcode, model information, damage, and my injuries.

I would appreciate a prompt response and instructions on how you would like me to proceed. I am also keeping the chair in its current condition in case it needs to be inspected.

    Thank you,
