As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made May 25, 2015, sent to the company Jun 2, 2015, published by CPSC Jun 16, 2015

The product, in the report: Rolling Garden Seat W/TU

This concerns a “Rolling Garden Seat W/TU” Product #41725 purchased from Northern Tool & Equipment store in Davenport, Iowa.

Item was purchased on 5/18/15 and was first used on 5/23/15. A weld attaching the seat to a screw which adjusted the seat height broke, dumping me off the back of the cart onto the ground head-first.

This weld secured a large-diameter acme-type threaded screw to a large circular disk of steel when the seat bolted onto. This was the first use of the item.

It appears this large steel disk which is similar to a large cut flat washer is not made of heavy or thick enough steel such that a good weld would hold.

This item was manufactured in China. A very similar unit with the identical parts is also sold by [REDACTED] as well.

I have photos but cannot upload them to the complaint for some reason.
