  1. First aid

Made Apr 22, 2023, sent to the company Apr 28, 2023, published by CPSC May 12, 2023

The product, in the report: Typical salon chair with attached immovable bar foot rest. These are not platform type footrests but a bar at the end of the chair. Theses foot rests are unnecessary and cause a significant trip hazard as they do not retract and they are out of the clients line of sight especially as the gown worn during the hair service can block the clients view of the footrest. They are also difficult to step around for both getting in to and out of the chair. They are also not ADA compliant

When stepping out of a salon chair in the hair salon I stepped forward to avoid the attached foot rest (a significant trip hazard) but as I stepped forward the chair swiveled as it was not locked and as I stepped forward being unaware the chair had swiveled I tripped on the foot rest and fell to the floor with significant force. My full body landed on the floor with my right side taking most of the fall.It has resulted in bruising and tenderness of my right Achilles tendon, right foot tenderness, some pain right shin, tender area right knee, right hip and mild groin pain, right triceps swelling and pain, right shoulder blade tenderness, mild left hip pain.
