The product, in the report: Chairs (used in a school)
The backs of the chair flex, when one leans on the back. There are 2 fairly thin pieces of plastic that secure the back to the chair. Therefore, overtime, the stress on those plastic pieces, can cause them to crack. Seven of the 100 chairs have broken when people were sitting in them.
No one has been injured or has fallen out of the chairs. The majority of the kids who use the chairs are high school age. Some adults have used the chairs for meetings.
The chairs were supposed to come with a lifetime warranty. It took the school over 9 months to get a response from the firm, after reporting the incidents to them.. Eventually a rep. was sent over and some of the chairs were replaced.
They sold for approx.. $90.00 each.
The caller believes that there is a design error with the chairs.
