Hurt, no treatment Made Aug 10, 2020, sent to the company Sep 1, 2020, published by CPSC Sep 16, 2020
The product, in the report: PATIO FURNITURE international Caravan Royal Tahiti Bar-Harbor Dining Chair (Set of 2)
I PURCHASED A WOOD INTERNATIONAL CARAVAN PATIO SET .. ONE TABLE AND FOUR CHAIRS.
THEY WERE STORED AT THE END OF EACH SEASON IN GARAGE FOR WINTER, SO THEY HAVE ONLY BEEN EXPOSED TO ELEMENTS DURING LATE SPRING/SUMMER/EARLY FALL MONTHS. SO THEY HAVE LIMITED EXPOSURE TO OUT DOORS.
ON AUGUST 30, 2020 I WAS SITTING IN ONE OF THE CHAIRS WHEN THE SEAT BOTTOM COLLAPSED... AND MY BODY FELL THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT. I WAS STUNNED...
THEN I USED ANOTHER CHAIR AND THE SAME THING OCCURRED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER SITTING IN THE CHAIR. TO GIVE MY AN VISUAL, IMAGING THE SEAL BOTTOM OF A CHAIR FALLING OUT FROM UNDER YOU AND YOUR BODY BEING LODGED IN A “V’ PATTERN.. MY BACK AND NECK HURT... HOPEFULLY THAT GOES AWAY ON ITS OWN.
THIS TYPE OF THING SHOULD NOT OCCUR AFTER TWO YEARS OF GENTLE USE! THESE CHAIRS ARE UNSAFE!!!!
