The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Flash Furniture task chair in orange

My 68 year old husband has been using a Flash Furniture desk chair purchased at Staples, I do not recall how many years ago. I heard a loud sound come from his office and he called for me to come in. He had been sitting at his desk, leaned back and the bottom of the chair had snapped back and he fell backwards onto the floor still in the chair! I had a hard time getting him up but he was able to extract himself. He appears to be uninjured but I am worried about his back. He only weighs 160 pounds so he is not too heavy for this chair!

The product, in the report: Flash Furniture Flash Fundamentals Mid-Back Black Mesh Swivel Task Office Chair with Pivot Back

This chair needs to be removed from Amazon and a recall needs to be issued!!!

I am not excessively heavy but leaned back in the chair and the plastic supporting the back snapped, sheared right off! This is a catastrophic failure and could KILL someone.

I fell backwards and almost hit my head on my floor I could have been seriously injured.

It could have broken my neck, or if the chair had sheared at a different place it could have snapped my spine on the way down.

There are other reports in the negative reviews indicating similar instances where the chair failed.

This is a death, major injury, and lawsuit waiting to happen! RECALL this chair immediately!

The product, in the report: Flash Furniture Hercules Series Chair ASIN: B00477V4Y8

I bought Flash Furniture Hercules Series Chair which they say is for 880 Lb. Capacity and is a “Titanium Frame”. This was for my 220 lb. mother - FAR less than the chair capacity. This is marketed on their website as well as amazon.com - where I bought it. After 1.5 years, the chair frame completely collapsed as she was sitting down and she crashed on the floor. While she thankfully did not suffer sever issues, my special needs daughter was present and saw the fall resulting into her going into panic attacks and becoming highly troubled. I went back and revisited their listing on amazon and there were at least another 10 exactly similar complaints. There is ABSOLUTELY no way the frame is titanium. This is completely false. There is no way this can handle half the rating they listed. Please do something about this, this is very dangerous for people. I’m attaching a picture of my broken chair.
