The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 3, 2022, sent to the company Jan 5, 2022, published by CPSC Jan 20, 2022

The product, in the report: Big and Tall Office Chair 400lbs Desk Chair Mesh Computer Chair with Lumbar Support Wide Seat Adjust Arms Rolling Swivel High Back Task Executive Ergonomic Chair for Home Office (Grey)

I purchased an office chair on Amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V8N4QBJ ) at the end of June (and which was delivered in July). On 12/31/2021, the metal on the bottom of the seat where it joins to the support shaft tore apart. As this joins the seat to the base, when it breaks completely, it can dump the seat and occupant out unexpectedly. (Based on the 1 star feedback for the product on Amazon, my experience does not appear to be an isolated incident).) The chair is advertised as being rated for 400 lbs. I specifically purchased this model as my weight is 290 lbs., and it seemed that this would give a good safety margin. I would not expect the product to catastrophically fail in this manner after only 6 months when I was only using 3/4 of the weight capacity that it was indicated to support. In my case I managed to catch myself before I went over backwards. Other consumers (based on the reviews) have not been as lucky. I was sitting in the chair, just as I normally did
