I purchased a lamp from Hobby Lobby SKU: 6404933. It was a pencil lamp for my elementary classroom. The first time I used it the lamp smelled like it was burning, so I unplugged it. The second time I tried it the burning smell was stronger and it was very hot. I told my students not to plug it in. I was out one day. I had a sub and someone plugged the lamp in. The top melted and has burn marks on the underside of the lampshade. I returned the lamp today. I am concerned because people mostly purchased this item for classrooms. Others have stated similar experiences online. To my knowledge this lamp has not been recalled.
