  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 13, 2012, sent to the company Feb 22, 2012, published by CPSC Mar 14, 2012

The product, in the report: 10.5” tall bronze color electric table lamp The U.L. # is E251329 for the lamp and the wiring is U.L. #E320990

On 2/3/12 I noticed a burning/melting plastic smell in my bedroom, I checked multiple items to see where it was coming from. There was also a haze in the air.

I found that the lamp on my bureau was where the melting odor was coming from. I felt the socket and it was very hot. I immediately unplugged the lamp. On further inspection I found the the coating on the wires had melted. The wires appear to be copper coated.

On 2/7/12 I contacted Steinmart customer service online from whom I purchased the lamp 2 years ago asking if there was any recall also advising that I had a second identical lamp that I was afraid to use. I have not received any sort of response back from Steinmart customer service.

The U.L. # is E251329 for the lamp and the wiring is U.L. #E320990.
