The product, in the report: Plasma Ball. Clear globe on top with a black base. Room2Room Distributed by: Five below Merchandising, 1818 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103, Made in China, Item number RD4041
My daughter received a Plasma Ball as a gift from a friend. Packaging states “Room2Room”, “Distributed by Five Below Merchandising, Inc, 1818 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103, Made in China, Item # RD4041. She inserted the batteries, all 4 placed correctly in the battery box and turned it on. It worked briefly and then the odor of burning plastic/electrical parts stated coming from it. That is when I took it and turned it off. I checked the batteries, all inserted properly. I turned it back on and monitored it. The plastic inside the globe began to melt, the batteries became warm and the device began to have visible smoke come out of it. I turned it off and removed the batteries. At which time it stopped smoking.
