The product, in the report: Geneva Glass Globe with Marble Base Task Lamp Brass Includes: 1 desk task lamp, 1 CFL bulb Shade Shape: Dome Bulb Base Size: Standard Edison medium screw base E26 Lighting Shade Material: Metal, Glass Lighting Body Material: Marble, Metal Weight: 7.8 pounds Assembly Details: Assembly required Assembled Dimensions: 22.0 inches (H) x 7.0 inches (W) x 11.25 inches (D) Shade Dimensions: 7.0 inches (H) Number of Light Bulb Sockets: 1.0
In December 2017, I purchased two of the Geneva Glass Globe with marble base task lamps. On May 22nd, one of them just suddenly caught on fire. We checked to ensure the bulb was not exceeding the 40w limit and it was not. There was only a 20w bulb in the lamp. On May 28th, on the opposite side of the house, the other one caught on fire. This time the entire lamps globe exploded. On May 28th, I contacted the customer service department online and was sent an automated message. The following day, I called their product safety line. I was given a case number and was told a rep from their quality department would reach out to me. I have since called daily and have yet to speak with someone in their quality department. All I want is to send the lamps back to their quality department so that they can determine if this is a safety hazard.
