The product, in the report: Pottery Barn Payton Metal Floor Lamp
Purchased 3 floor lamps from Pottery Barn (2 were original purchase and 1 was a replacement). Product name is “Payton Metal Floor Lamp”. Plugging this lmap into an outlet causes a hug spark if the lamp’s switch is in the ON position. If on the OFF position, after plugging in and switching the lamp ON will cause circuit breaker to trip. Obvious faulty wiring inside the lamp. I verified this with multuple lamps and on three multiple circuits in my home. Also verified that other lamps exhibit zero issues.

The product, in the report: Emilie 26 Ceramic Table Lamp with USB base. Ivory
A lamp I purchased from Pottery Barn suddenly made a loud popping sound and appeared to partially explode. See photos. Its important to note that the lamp was not on at the time, and there were no obvious external factors that would explain why this happened. The lamp does have a USB base but it was never used. Luckily nobody was sitting next to it when it happened.

The product, in the report: Pottery Barn Emilie 26” table lamp with usb base, Ivory. #84-3768137
A glass lamp shattered while sitting unattended on a side table. There was enough force that the lamp sounded like it “exploded” and threw glass shards throughout the room.

No one hurt Made Jan 6, 2014, sent to the company Jan 14, 2014, published by CPSC Jan 30, 2014
The product, in the report: Mini tabletop lamp. Off-white base. Light pink shade with two pink bows. Metal clamp lampshade. Approximately 16” high.
This evening the mini lamp in my daughter’s bedroom almost caught on fire. The lamp was bought in 2007 from Pottery Barn Outlet. It has a lampshade that is attached to the lamp by a metal clamp that fits directly on the light bulb. The lampshade was knocked off of the light bulb when my daughter turned the light on. She did not notice that it was knocked off and the paper/plastic part of the lampshade then rested on the hot light bulb for some time (maybe an hour?). We noticed the smell of smoke when getting ready for bed. At first we thought it was smoke that wafted upstairs from dinnertime. Then, as we approached her bedroom, the smell of smoke became significantly stronger. When I looked at her nightstand, I noticed that the lampshade was askew and that it was smoking. Upon further investigation, the lampshade was slowly burning and turning brown. The lampshade was actually melted onto the light bulb at this point. I immediately turned the lamp off and unplugged it from the electrical outlet.

The product, in the report: 18 inch Pottery Barn Desk Lamp
The consumer stated her table lamp is a potential fire hazard. The consumer stated that she came into her bedroom and smelled a chemical plastic smell and found that the plastic dial switch was very hot to the touch. The consumer stated that the product never smoked or caught fire. The smell remained in her home for an hour. The switch panel melted but the consumer is unsure if the wires inside are melted. The consumer stated that was the only part of the lamp that was unusually hot. The product was on for 15 minutes at the time of the incident. The consumer noticed the night before that there was a delay when she attempted to shut off the lamp at the dial. The consumer stated that the firm and seller are one and the same. The consumer called the seller today and they offered no assistance because they could not find an order number. The consumer stated that the product did not damage to her and was not injured. The consumer did not call the fire department. The consumer had another product plugged in to the same outlet with the table lamp and that product appeared to be fine.
