Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Jan 6, 2016, sent to the company Jan 14, 2016, published by CPSC Feb 2, 2016
The product, in the report: architect’s clamp-on desk lamp. 21-inches tall, 8-1/2-inch diam shade, 2-inch plastic clamp, spring tension arm, chrome finish.
I purchased a “architect’s” clamp-on desk lamp for my mother as a bedside reading lamp. After one day of use it fell off the headboard and injured her. I attribute the failure to the plastic clamp. Other lamps I have of my own have metal clamps. The plastic clamp flexes slightly but enough to loosen up and slip off the mounting surface. The rest of the lamp is metal.
