The product, in the report: Switch model seems to be ZING EAR ZE-04 Crystal Salt Lamp model No. 1000 series www.wbminternational.com

After changing the light bulb on a Himalayan Glow Crystal Salt Lamp the dimmer switch would no longer dim. It got hot and melted. Released fumes in house. It had previously worked adequately for some time. I notice that Amazon reviews also mention this problem.

The product, in the report: Himalayan glow crystal salt lamp by WBM international. Bought at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Bought a himalayan salt lamp from Bed Bath and Beyond around christmas time. Didn’t use it a whole lot and had been off for a few months. Went to plug it in again and within the hour, the dimmer switch melted and the lamp went out. The brand is wbm international himalayan glow. As far as I can tell, this brand was not part of the massive recall, but has the same problem as the ones that were recalled. The dimmer switch is a zing ear ZE-04. Cannot find if the recalled lamps uses the same dimmer switch as this.

The product, in the report: WBM Salt Crystal Lamp Model 1001 aka “Himalayan Glow” Manufacturer: WBM Foundation 54 NJ 12, Flemington, NJ 08822 USA

Salt Crystal Lamp by WBM International Item #1001rcvd as gift 6/18/2017. Sat on table in living room in air conditioned 72 degree house in front of north facing shaded window with blinds drawn. Left on for one week steady. Then run intermittently a few days at a time from then on. Turned off for vacation 7/16/2017. House remained at 72 degrees (my fault). Turned back on 7/24 for a few days. Then turned off again. When I went to turn it on again I noticed a large puddle of water under the lamp on the top of the table (about 3 to 4 tablespoons) And a slightly lesser amount of water on the lower shelf of the same table. The electric cord descending to the wall outlet had water droplets all over it, including the dimmer switch. to the point where the cord turned upward to the wall outlet, the last 15 to 18 inches of the cord leading to the outlet was dry. There was a small puddle of water below the bottom of the cord, maybe a teaspoon. ALL of this water was extremely SALTY! This item has been sitting in a dish with the bulb and cord removed and the wooden base still attached dripping about 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt water for the past week. Definitely not a safe buy!

The product, in the report: It’s a pink Himalayan rock salt lamp with a dimmer switch and wooden bottom.

My husband and I got the Himalayan salt rock lamp as a gift for our wedding. I love rocks and I love the soft light from the lamp when I fall asleep. Recently though the knob has started to get very hot when the lamp is on. Even when it’s on for merely 10 minutes the dimmer knob feels like it is burning. My husband and I are now concerned that it is a fire hazard if we use it as a night light. Breaks my heart. I love this lamp. I don’t know what to do.
