  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Nov 14, 2023, sent to the company Nov 17, 2023, published by CPSC Dec 4, 2023

The product, in the report: The lamp is from IKEA is a standing lamp, named Hektogram model, it has a reading light to the side as well as a flood light to the top.

An IKEA floor lamp has been overheating too an extent where the reading light temperature measured a surface temperature in excess of 120F as measured with a common thermometer at the turn on/off button. The lamp can then only be turned off by unplugging it as operating the button poses a risk of burns. IKEA was contacted but ignored the shared concern. Instead they recommended that I would take the lamp to a hardware store and have it fixed on my costs. (Not sure what there is to fix in the first place) IKEA seems to not be interested about the safety concerns raised.
