The product, in the report: Physical description: white base, pink lampshade with a “pullstring” on it to turn it off and on. Pullstring has a pink plastic “crystal” heart at the end of it. The bottom of the lampshade is adorned in pink plastic “crystal” decorative pieces. At the bottom of the “body” of the lamp, where it meets the base, there is also a pink plastic “crystal.” The information on the bottom of the lamp is as follows: Circo table lamp 18 in tall (45.7 cm) UPC 798919110858 A sticker says QC-AOK Another sticker says 08/10 A “stamp” on the felt lining says Target097021108 F16780780-08/10

I went in my daughter’s room this evening to check on her before I went to bed (as I always do) and it smelled like something was burning. It was the lamp on her nightstand next to her bed. The top of the light bulb was black and literally burning the white off of the light bulb. I unplugged the lamp and took the light bulb out of the lamp once it had cooled. I have pictures of the light bulb and of the lamp. I looked online for recalls and saw that just 3 days ago, Target issued a recall for another type of Circo lamp (not the same model as the one I have) for what seems to be the exact same problem. I am absolutely mortified at this moment. Had I gone to bed without walking into my daughter’s room, we could’ve woken up to a fire in our apartment- or worse- not woken up at all.
