The product, in the report: Celia Mercury Glass Floor Lamp. About 5 feet tall, brass finish, round base. silvery glass shade, brown cord with floor button/switch.

I purchased this lamp about 7 months ago from Urban Outfitters. It is used infrequently in our apartment. Every time we have turned it on, the light bulb crackles, shatters and smokes. This has happened 4 times, with 4 different bulbs (different brands and wattage). We did not exceed the recommended wattage for the lamp. Each time, the light bulb shattered within seconds of switching the light on. We immediately switched it off and unplugged it, thinking that it was another bad light bulb. But after happening 4 times, there is definitely something wrong with the lamp.
