The product, in the report: Mudhut Turned Floor Lamp with Linen Shade Model FXP000559C UPC 702992840359
I purchased a floor lamp in Nov 2015. I did not assemble and start using it until approximately end of Jan 2016. I noticed after having it awhile it went thru light bulbs a lot faster than my previous floor lamps. Over the past year it started blowing even more light bulbs. Today I had went to do laundry and came back and the light had turned off. I assumed the bulb needed replaced so I went and got one. When I put the bulb in and turned the switch it made an “electrifying noise” and burst at the same time. Then I smelled burnt stuff. I quickly unplugged the lamp. Upon removing light bulb I seen that it had blown an actual hole in the bottom of the bulb. I then considered removing the cord and socket and just replacing the components. Upon removing the top part of the socket I seen that it had even blown a hole thru the socket as well. I do not feel as though this should have happened. Had I not been home I feel as though it would have caught on fire.
