As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, care not known

Made Oct 12, 2016, sent to the company Oct 20, 2016, published by CPSC Nov 3, 2016

The product, in the report: Bathroom scale - glass top Model ND-02 Manufacturer SYVAN Rikki|GGI International 180 Summit Ave, Suite 207 Montvale NJ 07645

This involves a digital bathroom scale with a glass top, that I bought more than a year ago, don’t have the receipt anymore.

By accident I bumped backward into the scale, not hard, pushing it into the bathtub wall, and it shattered into a zillion pieces, all over the bathroom floor - I took pictures

I wrote the manufacturer - see below - and they said they never heard of something like that, and since it is more than a year old, they cannot do anything about it.

Other than a minor cut on my finger, during the clean up process, no one was hurt. But I am concerned about the explosion-like breaking of the glass.

It isn’t so much about the money, but rather the SAFETY ISSUE

    See the email exchange below

I tried to email/add files of the shattered glass but when I clicked on it, it did not seem to work

to me Hi [REDACTED], We are happy to hear no one was hurt. These pictures are nothing like I have seen before. Thank you for letting us know! I will definitely show them to the manager and we will find something to do in order to avoid this from happening to anyone else. Unfortunately, our warranty only covers a year after purchase. As you have stated that you had brought your scale in 2014, we would not be able to send you a replacement. We are truly sorry. --- [REDACTED] | GGI International 180 Summit Ave. Suite 207 Montvale, NJ 07645 E [REDACTED] P [REDACTED] F [REDACTED] www.ggiinternational.com Description: GGI Teal From: [REDACTED] Sent: Monday, October 10, 2016 7:11 PM To: [REDACTED] | GGI International Subject: Re: [REDACTED] submitted the form from your ‘Contact Us’ page I don’t think I have the receipt anymore, bought it in 2014. No one got hurt, other than having to do the clean-up and make sure no pieces of glass were left on the floor. It was just a slight bump, where it probably was pushed against the bathtub, no extreme temperatures or other explanations.
