  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Dec 14, 2025, sent to the company Dec 22, 2025, published by CPSC Jan 9, 2026

The product, in the report: Connecticut Electric Model CESMPSC55GRHR Internet #100669936 Store SKU #1000498537 (Home Depot)

Connecticut Electric Model CESMPSC55GRHR Internet #100669936 Store SKU #1000498537 (Home Depot) being installed and used in a home/garage/RV storage environment. During installation, noted that the large stranded wiring between the 50 amp RV outlet and both of the related circuit breakers would pull out of the circuit breakers. Further investigation found that the screws on the breakers are too short and bottom out before the wires are properly secured, therefore they will pull out of the connection. This, over time with high RV amperage loads (such as running the HVAC system), would be loose enough to possibly arch, overheat, melt and ignite a fire inside the box. This would also cause damage to the RV HVAC system and sensitive electronics within the RV due to low and/or fluctuating system voltage. Since I was alert enough to notice this, I have already installed longer threaded screws onto the circuit breaker connections and will not have a future issue, but anyone that is not so observant, would likely miss this defect and would suffer some sort of issue in the future. Therefore, I feel that this product needs to be recalled and repaired ASAP.
