The product, in the report: Autotransformer 5000 VA. Photo below.
I purchased two of these units from Amazon. I just finished writing a review and chatting with an Amazon agent about the potential lethality of these autotransformers from the Yinleader company in China. They are stepup/stepdown transformers 5000 watt capacity. This is the flaw. (Both units demonstrate the exact same flaw which I first noticed when I received a painful shock. This is therefore NOT a random but a factory error in all probablity.) When the transformer is plugged into a 220v outlet and a 110v appliance is plugged into the 110v outlet on the transformer the following occurs. Instead of a zero volt potential between the ground and the neutral terminal the potential measured is 220 volts! Yes. From the 110 volt outlet.
