The product, in the report: PG&E Smart meter

A smart meter in the engine room blew up around 11:30 pm on July 21 causing the whole apartment complex (500+ units) to evacuate. The fire was contained quickly since it was in the garage. PG&E was slow to come out to install new meters and left the residents without power, still no power as of now. Faulty smart meters are dangerous and should be banned!

The product, in the report: smart meter

My smart meter caught fire and left me with no power. Thank goodness it didn’t do harm to my home. Just the meter. I also have pets which are my kids. Very scary situation. I don’t feel safe with these at all now. Also have googled all other fires which have happened with these. And even a death.
