Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

No one hurt Made Oct 31, 2018, sent to the company Nov 8, 2018, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2018
The product, in the report: InSinkErator Single Outlet SinkTop Switch. The air activated switch mounts to the sink or countertop and is an alternative to the traditional wall switch for a garbage disposal. The model numbers are 76703.
We used our garbage disposal last night (two weeks in newly built home) and when I pushed bottom on countertop, nothing happened, garbage disposal didn’t seem to be on. I tried it a second, third time and nothing. I opened underneath sink and garbage disposal was smoking horribly. We unplugged and flames were coming out of it! So thankful my cleaning products below didn’t ignite and explode. Horrific that our plumber, installer and builder were not properly notified of this fire recall back in May. We just paid an electrician to check breaker, install a new outlet and have to pay for a plumber to install a new garbage disposal.

The product, in the report: InSinkErator Single Outlet SinkTop Switch Model STS-SOSN Date Code 1701
InSinkErator Single Outlet SinkTop Switch spontaneously activated garbage disposer and I was unable to turn disposer off. Power module began to smolder at which point I shut power off at the breaker panel. No injuries or property damage were sustained. Odor dissipated relatively quickly.

Not said Made Sep 18, 2016, sent to the company Sep 26, 2016, published by CPSC Oct 11, 2016
The product, in the report: countertop garbage disposal sink switch - by the way, I do have photos and the original product, but every time I try to attach photos your website crashes. You should either fix that or disable the photos option.
The single plug electrical unit caught fire. This is the second unit I have purchased. The first one “burned” out - you could smell it, but did not catch fire. The second one actually caught fire - I saw flames. It definitely would have burned the house down had I not been home when it happened.
