The product, in the report: light switch
I called CPSC call center and spoke with [REDACTED]. I am an EPA certified Lead Risk Assessor. As I was performing a Lead Risk Assessment in regard to a child, I tested a Hobby Lobby light switch cover with an XRF and it tested above the allowable limits for lead. The child continuously played with the light switch. I had the item tested at [REDACTED] lab for lead in surface coating and lead in substrate. The item is white washed and chalky and it is unsure if the surface coating is intact. The surface coating was under the allowable limits for lead but the substrate coating exceeds the allowable limits immensely. The surface coating result is 23 ppm and the substrate itself is 5162 ppm. Please see the link below for the item. I will also send another email to info@cpsc.gov per [REDACTED]’s recommendation. Please contact me if you need further information. There are other products, by the same manufacturer, on the website as well. I also have pictures of the exact light switch cover I sent into [REDACTED] if you need that as well. Thank you, [REDACTED].
