The product, in the report: FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT SMART METER- ELECTRICITY USAGE METER

I am a homeowner in Florida who has experienced extreme difficulty in multiple different occasions over the last 6 months due to a Florida Power and Light FPL Smart Meter. The meters are faulty and have caused lights to flicker, appliances to fail, power outages, and ultimately the electrical box caught on fire and the power line fell down in my yard.

I have documentation of each repair and pictures of each problem. We have spent thousands of dollars and FPL says it’s all my responsibility and my problem. They claimed it was faulty wiring, but we changed all the wiring and it happened again... They also claimed it was a faulty box which was supposedly also my responsibility, but now it’s a brand-new GE box and we’re still having the same problem.

I have complained to FPL because different electricians said it was caused by the meters and FPL denied it. They made it seem as if I was having an isolated incident due to old equipment but after we repaired it the first time, this the symptoms kept happening and ultimately a much more serious incident happened.

The FPL Smart Meter on my outside back wall caught on fire two weeks ago. The pipes melted, electric line fell to the ground and my grass caught on fire. The fire department showed up and FPL finally killed the power to the wire. It has been a crazy ordeal over the last two weeks trying to deal with permits and contractors to get the box and hole in my wall repaired, but as of today we are finished and we have a new entirely new electrical system installed in our house including all new electrical boxes.

The kicker is that we are still experiencing the same symptoms!!! I had a second electrician take measurements and readings from inside the house and inspect all of the work done and he says everything was done perfectly.

My neighbors are having similar power symptoms and this weekend there was an article in the local paper detailing many similar incidents where the smart meters have caused many problems and other arcing fires.
