The product, in the report: Travel plug converter and voltage converter for UK / US travel. Allows using US devices in UK.
Bought converter for travel to UK for my daughter. Tested product (I am an EE) prior to giving it to her and found that: 1. The output of the socket that claims to provide standard US 120v is over 180v 2. The polarity is backward, with the neutral being hot 3. The adapter plug is not polarized, and not marked, allowing incorrect attachment 4. The live/neutral pins on the UK plug are not shielded (insulated) as required by code
No injuries occurred, but this converter is not safe for use.
