The product, in the report: Smartpoint USB/Wall Outlet Extender with Night Light
I purchased the Smartpoint USB/Wall Outlet Extender with Nightlight (model SS-Q905) at Bj’s in early September. When I plugged it in , I saw that a powerstrip I had connected to it was showing a faulty ground. I tested the powertap with an [REDACTED] tester and it shows that the polarity was reversed, I tested the outlet itself and it was wired properly (see attached photos). I emailed the manufacturer and they acknowledge the issue, calling it an isolated incident:

[REDACTED],
We did speak with the manufacturer.
They are investigating. But this was fully tested with reputable labs, so I suspect it may be an isolated incident.
Nevertheless, we are taking this very seriously and are further researching.
This was 3 weeks ago and I have not heard anything else.
I went to the store and exchanged the unit, and the replacement does the same thing. No injuries or equipment damage occured.
