The product, in the report: Lowe’s Single Gang Junction Box, intended for the installation of an electrical outlet or switch in an already finished framed residence. Blue color. The receipt states the following for the product: 37117 16-20-CU IN PVC OLD WORK
The product, a 1-gang, ‘Old Work’ junction box, intended for the installation of an electrical outlet or switch in a finished home, was purchased at Lowe’s for its intended purpose. The box comes with molded sprintabs, intended to retain an inserted wire. They are sharp in the corners and along the edge, thereby introducing a high-probability of damage to the wire. Twice, the tabs cut the brand new Romex insulation. If the cuts would have been unnoticed, they could have caused an electrical short and spark, potentially leading to a house fire.
