The product, in the report: The Adaptor is marked with “ExtraStar”, presumably the manufacturer. It is white plastic, 2” w x 2-7/8” h x 1-5/8” d. The front is marked with “Universal Travel Adaptor” and “Surge Protector”. There is a red LED on the front near the top.
When I plugged a Universal Travel Adaptor into an outlet, there were sparks and the circuit breaker tripped. On inspection, the blades used to connect to a US/Australian outlet do not fully retract. When plugged into the outlet, the blade contacted the outlet cover plate which was conductive. It shorted the 250 volt circuit.
