The product, in the report: This is an oil lantern with a glass fuel reservoir (font) and a glass globe. It stands 16and 1/2 inches tall. It uses oil or kerosene as a fuel.
I purchased an oil lantern through Amazon.com earlier this month. When it arrived I filled the glass fuel reservoir (font) with oil and prepared to light it. It was then that I noticed oil was leaking out of the bottom of the reservoir and flowing across the counter top. Had I struck a match it is very likely that the lantern and the counter top would have been engulfed in flame. I am 78 years old and this is the first time in my life I have seen a glass container leak from its bottom. Clearly there was little to no quality control in the manufacture of this oil lamp. The lamp is sold as GloBrite: “Lite Hearted Clear Glass Oil Lamp,” model number L329ACL. It was made in China and imported by 21st Century through USA Importers. I have returned the product to Amazon.com for a refund.
