The product, in the report: 48” round outdoor dining table with glass top, made by the Windward Design Group, like this one from the Windward web site: [REDACTED](I would have pasted the original long URL here but this form does not allow copying/pasting).
A tempered glass top in an outdoor patio table shatterd spontaneously, at around 9:00am ET on 9/14/2014. Fortunately no one was sitting at the table when this happened. The glass shattered into small pieces as expected of tempered glass. There was nothing on the table at the time except for a lightweight plant. There were no visible cracks or other signs of damage in the table top before this happened. The table was located in a screen porch so it was not directly exposed to the elements, though it was exposed to sunlight entering the porch.
