Made Nov 20, 2014, sent to the company Jan 27, 2015, published by CPSC Feb 10, 2015

The product, in the report: Glass table with 3 metal legs and 6 chairs

The consumer stated that the glass table top exploded. The consumer heard it in the other room. The consumer walked into the kitchen and stepped on glass.

The consumer contacted the manf and they informed her that this could happen due to room temperature change.

The consumer had the insurance agent over her house from the manf. The consumer stated that the agent tried to say that this was due to temperature change or the glass was hit with something. The consumer stated that nothing hit the table and no one was in the room when the glass exploded.

The consumer stated that they had the doors open for a while so the house was colder than usual. They then turned on the heater so the temperature fluctuated a little.

The consumer has pieces of glass in both of her feet. The consumer stated that she went for a pedicure at a salon and most of the glass pieces were removed by the lady doing her pedicure. The consumer has seen a foot doctor and gone through x-rays and MRI to find the pieces. The consumer has been going back and forth with the doctor trying to get the pieces removed. The consumer stated that the pieces are too small to take out. The consumer stated that there are about 4 more pieces left in her feet.

The consumer stated that 2 of the 6 chairs that came with the table broke after 2 years of use, so they were only using 4 chairs. The consumer stated that the other 4 chairs would snap so they limited their use. When they contacted the retailer for the incident that happened with the chairs, they informed the consumer that this issue would not be covered under warranty. They informed her that someone would have to fall from the chair for it to be replaced under warranty.

The consumer has remaining pieces of glass, the table legs and chairs.
